Sound Art Project - Spider: A Modular Synth and Video Experiment

I have been a fan of Ipnoteca ever since i heard the sounds he made using his machines of mass destruction a.k.a. his tower of modular synthesizers. So when we planned this collaboration, i'm really excited to make a video for his noise. This is the first video i have ever done, and it is quite nerve-wracking knowing what the outcome would be. All in all, it has been a really interesting collaboration. I'm looking forward to do another one and hopefully we will post again soon.

You can see more of his music on his youtube channel.

cloud

How i wish i could also stand under this beautiful light bulb installation and pull those strings! This 6000 lightbulb piece is titled Cloud, a collaborative work by Caitlind r.c. Brown and Wayne Garrett at Calgary’s Nuit Blanche.

gillman barracks

I went to Gillman Barracks late so I didn't able to see much. Gallery viewing is until 8 in the evening so I only got to see few ones that were still open. I vow to come back next time during the daylight.

Donna Ong's "And We Dreamt We Were Birds" is an art installation of beds suspended in the air. It reminded me of how childhood begins the creativity and imagination. Clever use of floating beds. :)

Kahn & Selesnick's Adrift on the Hourglass Sea is a multimedia project that contains large-scale panoramic photographs and small-scale photographs about Martian landscapes. The photographs employ actual photo-mosaics of Mars taken by the NASA space rovers, desert landscapes in Nevada and Utah photographed by the artists, and WWI-era British Army sculptures photographed for Kahn & Selesnick by another artist Cathy Ward.

encounter

The travelling exhibition titled "Encounter" presented by the Royal Academy in Asia features works of art in a wide range of media by different artists. As the title suggests, the show is a meeting place where works of Eastern and Western artists come together in a cross-section of cultural perspectives.

I personally like Zhao Renhui's Expedition #43 from the Glacier Study Group Series. It reminded me of how art can change the way we see the world and redefine terms around it.
