old video memoirs

Shaky videos (sorry for the quality) recovered from an ancient memory card.

I miss playing with Mori. I am glad he is doing fine and getting fatter than ever!
He loves to play with his teddy. It's so fun to mess around with him when he is being anti-social and snobby.
I miss hugging my baby piglet. <3

This next clip is from one of the art classes i used to conduct several years ago.
We were trying to record a storytelling session using the artworks they made but the kids
weren't in the mood, hahah.
I just love kids. I miss teaching. :)

munny and mori

I made Panda Smugster for my friends Eagle and Uma.

I made His Royal Chubbiness so sleepy when i fed him all his heart could ever desire.
I miss you sooo much baby. :)

Cat gone sour

It's been two weeks of non-stop work and going home late so Mori has gone sulky last night.
It took thirty minutes and a bait of whiskas to tame him back..

photos taken by my sister (who is now Mori's new favorite person, i'm jealous)

easter finds

Sorting boxes, letters, postcards, art invites, old photos and various cards.

I found out i have a little painting by Froi that he gave when we were classmates in a minor subject during college.

I bet this is highly valued now, heheh.

By the way, my artwork "To the Fasting Party" is featured in Spoonfulzine's Easter art finds.

Back to the boxes, I found these cute old photographs, too:

Mom in her 20s is a carbon copy of my sister Googs. :)

Me and my auntie.

Meanwhile, at the other side of the room...
Hah! The box inspector neglected his duty and fell asleep .

last weekend of march

If the sky falls, hold up your hands...
tells a famous Spanish saying.

In my case, raising them with painted cuticles. :P

I really like this color. And Payne's Grey.
{The polishes i bought from Mikikay at 98B Future Market}

Speaking of 98B, before running to catch the Art Talk,
i had a chance meeting up with Ria, Inah, and Pete (not in photo).
Thanks to Theo and his very nice camera for this shot.

On Sunday:

Winter has come.

meeting summer with rain

This week's weather is precarious. It will rain and heat up in a day. But i'm still daring to anticipate some blue skies over the Lenten season. I'd like to visit few places.

4am sketch the other morning whilst the heavy downpour.

In this kind of weather, the mafia cat sleeps zealously.
Notice how he possessively done-up Vimbim for his pillow.

the cat and the moon

Tonight's moon is still as round as last night.

Meanwhile, Mori is pondering about the meaning of life.

random weekend snaps

Antonio and Sabina,
Adopt A Cat event at Greenbelt.

They are so cute!

This one doesn't need adopting. He will adopt you! bwahaha.
Mori sleeping under my dining table.

Also, Jen and I passed by this exhibition at Ayala Museum before going to Peninsula. I love these two. It rotates like a weathervane. The metallic balance is insanely perfect. The lady in-charged of the gallery said both are already sold (i must have looked kind of awestruck, she thought i wanted to take it home hahah).

living things are analogous

I made Mori's fur my reference for the current artworks i'm doing.
Painting details is quite harder than i anticipate but i plan to turn my weakness around.

siopao alert!

Mori's candid shots are hilarious. He knows how to bitch-face when he doesn't like something.
For instance, when i rearrange the placement of our pots and he cannot find his favorite plant.

Aside from animal furs, i'm making my own specie from looking at various plants. Living things are analogous. A person, a person's movements, the moving details around him, every being that emits life ~ they all can be a source of inspiration depends on how you look at them. This is what i learned from conquering blocks.

keep the wheel turning

my student's first try on the pies

Making color wheel looks easy but consider how relatively tricky color is and you may find yourself wondering if you had the exact amount of color and the correctness of its complementary match. Back in college, Color Theory is one of the hardest subjects in art studies. Learning color is a difficult feat, it ate my brains out. It challenged my critical thinking and perception. So i had this wicked idea heh, to make it the topic of our third session.

Important points:
~ Mix to get the perfect primary colors. Don't rely on the paint tubes. Not all content infos can be trusted, you'll just get a murky shade out of mixing two.
~ To get the right middle color, mix 1/2 and 1/2 not two wholes.
ex. middle gray = 1/2 pigment of black + 1/2 pigment of white
~ Understanding color context is essential in knowing color contrast and how color behaves in relation to other colors.
~ A visual impact of a color depends on the relative lightness and intensity of the hues.

In irrelevance to this nerdy post, i give you furs-rrrr ...

random photos

Mori in his evil plans :P (lookie the ears).

Mori bird-watching.

Testing my fisheye on Googs.
Googs watching cute boys on TV with my neck pillow on her head.

Stacks to organize: my dollshoes boxes, running shoes, fave Keds blue-green pair,
hi-cut for all seasons (Sanuk and heels missing in action).

How does one become a butterfly?
Crawl and seek yourself.

*Odd to see a caterpillar making his way at a coffee shop's front porch.
Caffeine-pillar? Why not.

Have a great week!
