Keep Still

Looking For You
{gouache and graphite}

First, I would like to thank the lovely Kim of Fill Your Well for surprisingly featuring me on her blog. I still couldn't express how much thankful I am neither form the words to describe my gratitude. It is always sooo heart-thumping to know that people appreciate my art. It jump-starts the adrenaline to do more. Honestly, I'm yet to know where I'm really heading, but perhaps it is braving my own adventure.
Visit her lively space! She's an inspiring person ~ I call her a mover.
Her never-ending flow of thoughts and ideas will lighten up your day. :)

I'm currently listening to Ingrid Michaelson's Everybody album. And I would like to share something my friend Hazey mailed. I think it perfectly fits the evening, like the skies and stars' quiet harmony.

“When trouble is brewing, keep still.
When slander is getting on its legs, keep still.
When your feelings are hurt, keep still.
Till you recover from your excitement at any rate.

Things look differently through an agitated eye.
Don’t post that letter, keep it.
A few days will give you light.

Time works wonders.
Wait till you can speak calmly, and then perhaps,
you will not need to speak at all.

Silence is the most massive thing conceivable.
Often, its strength is its very grandeur.

It is like a regiment ordered to stand still in the mad fury of battle.
To plunge in were twice as easy.

Nothing is lost by learning to keep still"

  3. that is a beautiful song, and i am only too happy to share your art with others. it's hard to always know the direction of your path, but i want you to know that i see such great talent in you. so many people do art because they like it, but you have something far deeper. you are a true artist in spirit, not just interest or skill. so trust your intuition and allow the art to flow through you.
